Our New Mexico elk hunting trip is a
"gem of a hunt". We have 2 bull elk tags yearly on a private
ranch with a nice substantial resident herd. The elk herd
has been managed very well and has been producing bull scoring from 280-370. Hunting has been 100% successful so far and should remain so if taken care of.
The way private landowner tags work in New Mexico is you can use them from Oct 1st Through Dec 31st but you have to pick 5 consecutive days to hunt. What really makes this a great hunt is
that you could hunt our mule deer at the same time. That’s right!
Hunt two different trophies at the same time. To hunt elk
and mule deer at the same time you have to hunt during the
mule deer season which is always the last full weekend of October and runs for 5 days
Saturday through Wednesday. I can’t think of a more exciting hunt to be on.
